A vocabulary that is made up from only one single kanji means in most cases the same as the kanji that it belongs to. That's with this vocabulary also the same. This vocabulary means eight!
When a vocabulary has only a single kanji without any hiragana connected to it, it usually uses the kunyomi reading. However, with numbers, it is an exception. When a number is written, it's going to be the onyomi reading. Just make sure to remember this exception as it is used quite a lot.
