Learning speed update Posted by: Wes 1 month ago
I want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas (a bit late, I know) and a Happy New Year.
Next to that
I have updated the learning speeds.
Easy -> is now -> Casual
Medium -> is now -> Serious
Hard -> is now -> Intense
The learning speeds are still the same; they only have another name to make it easier to understand for new users.

Question about learning speed: If we want to progress faster through the beginning kanji and vocab we are familiar with, would it be a good idea to set our learning speed to "Casual". Then when we start to struggle, set it to "Serious"?
My reasoning is based on reading the Learning Goals helpdesk article (https://www.mykanjiapp.com/helpdesk/27/learning-goals). It seems by setting speed to Casual, you basically move twice as fast through the system which is OK is you're already quite familiar with the kanji and vocab.
Learning Goals :
Casual: A new card has to be studied 12 correct times in 2 months to finish it.
Serious: A new card has to be studied 24 correct times in 4 months to finish it.
Indeed with casual you'll learn much faster, this is for users that already know some and just want to review. We would suggest to learn with serious or intense as this is much better for learning new cards. If you have more questions, you can also personally send me a message :)0 — 1 month ago
